The movie follows the hilarious adventures of Angelina, a seven-year-old spoiled brat, and her yaya (nanny) Chacha, who tries to tame her unruly behavior. Angelina's antics include putting a can of beer in a microwave oven, fighting with her classmate in a zoo, and going up to a belltower to disrupt a wedding. Chacha is determined to take on the difficult girl, but she also becomes the target of Angelina's mean jokes, mockery, and raging outbursts. Things get more complicated when Angelina is accidentally kidnapped by a group of terrorists who plan to assassinate the Duchess of Wellington, who is visiting Angelina's school. Chacha must save Angelina and her parents from the terrorists, while also proving her innocence from being accused of kidnapping.
The movie was released on September 23, 2009 in Philippine cinemas. It received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the chemistry and comedic timing of Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid, but criticized the plot and direction for being too absurd and nonsensical. The movie was a box office success, earning 64.6 million. It also spawned a sequel titled Yaya and Angelina: The Spoiled Brat Movie 2, which was released in 2012.
